Post and support the LSP Protection Act
I am a lifetime Jersey City resident who is disturbed by the unending threats to beautiful Liberty State Park. The mere thought of privatization working its way into this wonderful gift to the people is repugnant to all who love these pristine acres. LSP must proudly remain open, free and green, just as its founders intended.
The most effective way of stopping the parade of schemers filled with money-making propositions is with unambiguous, protective legislation. I am urging Sen. Stephen Sweeney to act decisively in rejecting special interests by posting and vigorously supporting Senate Bill S3357 and giving an unequivocal “no” to those who would compromise the long-standing integrity of the park. A strong LSP Protection Act is essential. Let’s keep this healthy and needed gift as the unscathed gem it is.

Scooters, bikes should be ticketed
What is the bad deal with all the bikes and scooters going any which way but correct? Are they supposed to follow the traffic laws or continue to do whatever they want? I just want to know. Are they considered pedestrians or vehicles?
What are the rules for this current free-for-all? Who is supposed to be informing us ? Or, are they non existent? They’re not posted. What do the Insurance Companies say? Are the police giving out tickets during such chaos?
The city can make a lot of money on so many people not paying attention to these safety concerns. It’s rampant. Furthermore, the Baby Carriage handles are no better. Or the jaywalkers. Give them tickets. Whatever happened to “Cross at the Green, not in between?” or “Stop, Look and Listen?” These are basic laws I learned in kindergarten.
People are oblivious. I am a senior citizen, disabled U.S. veteran, and lifelong Jersey City resident. All of these issues mentioned have created a poorer quality of life.
